Ray Rose Width Fitting Guide

Across Ray Rose range of Ladies’ Latin sandals, we offer 4 different width fittings.

With the exception of one model (836-X Hygea), all of our sandals are available in the medium fitting, with a select few available in the Medium +, Wide or Extra Wide fittings.

The medium fitting of Ray Rose sandals is approximately a B/C width fitting, which we have found to be well suited to most individuals who have neither a particularly wide nor narrow foot.

The Medium + fitting uses the same width insole as the medium fitting, but the rearmost part of the vamp (the strappy/satin section) is slightly wider, creating a larger opening for the foot.

For a long time, this was the only ‘wide’ option the company offered, as they have historically found that for a large proportion of people who consider their feet to be wide, they only require additional room at the widest part of the foot, but not necessarily for the toes.

To better accommodate dancers who require additional room for more than just the widest part of the foot, Ray Rose introduced a more traditional, Wide fitting. This has a slightly wider insole as well as a vamp which is wider along its entire length.

Finally, for people with a particularly wide foot, Ray Rose have most recently introduced the Extra Wide fitting, which further increases the width of the insole and vamp.

Additional Fitting Information

Whilst Ray Rose medium fitting sandals are made to the same sizing specifications across the range, please note that different models can be slightly better suited to a wider or narrower foot based on their design and strap configurations.

Generally speaking, models with a greater number of straps, or a more enclosed design, can feel tighter and can therefore be better suited to a slightly narrower foot. Models with fewer straps, or a more open design, can be slightly better suited to a foot which is a little wider, but not wide enough to require a Medium + or Wide fitting.
